Investment Readiness: First Practical Sessions to Equip Togolese Startups for Fundraising

The dynamism of Togo's entrepreneurial ecosystem
continues to grow, driven by a bold youth and innovative initiatives. Yet,
funding remains a significant barrier for startups seeking growth. Aware of
this challenge, the Ministry of Digital Transformation (MoDT), through Agence
Togo Digital, and in partnership with GIZ-Togo’s ProDigiT program, launched in
January 2025 a dedicated training initiative called Investment Readiness.
This program aims to strengthen the capacity of
startups to structure their business models, understand financing mechanisms,
and engage more effectively with investors. It also targets Entrepreneurship
Support Organizations (ESOs) to foster more strategic and relevant support for
local businesses.
Following a selection process, 10 startups — Arthemis Technology, Clinicaa, Comte-n’ko
Corporation SARL-U, Dokita Eyes, FAP Espoir Revient, Klumer, Le Gombo,
Robaloto, Trankyl, Tropi Tecno Sarl — and 5 ESOs — Africa Coworkers, CUBE, Dagba, Innov’up, TIDD — were chosen.
Since March 2025, participants have been
undergoing a six-month training program combining remote sessions and in-person
meetings every two months for hands-on workshops.
The first practical workshops were held on July
3–4, 2025 at the MoDT headquarters, with the ten selected startups. Over the
course of two days, they deepened their understanding of fundraising through
interactive sessions focused on :
●
Structuring and optimizing their business models
●
Identifying and understanding financing mechanisms
●
Strengthening the technical and managerial skills
of startup founders
This initiative once again demonstrates the
Ministry’s commitment to building a more mature and internationally competitive
local entrepreneurial ecosystem.
We’ll be closely following the progress of these
startups and ESOs throughout the program. Stay tuned !
